For over 20 years, we have been part of local life in Kingston-Upon-Thames and we work with many local charities throughout the year offering two local charities per month to have an awareness stand and collection in our main Centre Square Area.
Marie Curie, Mind, Love Kingston, Kingston Hospital Dementia appeal, Royal Marsden, Kingston Cardiac Support Trust comprise just some of the charities we are involved with, and are always on the look-out for new causes to promote.
We also support our retailer’s charitable causes by offering space here to host their events – recent victories include BHS and the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, who raised £1,785 on the day. Another success was the Boots Children in Need campaign which raised £450 thanks to sterling effort from staff and customers.
The Centre teams up with the British Heart Foundation each year for their “Bag It Beat It” campaign which funds life-saving heart research, helping over 40,000 little heroes continue to fight congenital heart disease. We urge the Kingston Community to bag up and donate unwanted quality clothes, shoes, toys, books, CDs and bric-a-brac and drop it off at Eden Walk or their local BHF shop.
We also support arts charity Create who have been supporting young and adult carers by giving them the opportunity to get creative and get involved in different projects like photography workshops, textile workshops and dance workshops. Create Arts focus on engaging society’s most disadvantaged and vulnerable people in inspiring sustainable programs.
